On 3rd July 2003, Úbeda and Baeza were declared World Heritage Sites. From that day, both cities became part of the most outstanding cities in the world. Cities where a unique and everlasting work was made by the hand of man. UNESCO, the highest International Organism which adopted the Declaration, emphasized the cultural unity between both cities. According to a report by this Organism, Ubeda and Baeza are the best example of Spanish Humanist Renaissance, an artistic style that was exported and even got to Latin America.

Baeza is an example of public architecture and religious power, on the other hand, Ubeda focused its interest in private and civil architecture. The monumental and artistic heritage of both cities was built during the XVI and XVII centuries. In those days, the most important people were  Francisco de los Cobos, secretary of Carlos I and adviser of Felipe II, and the architect Andres de Vandelvira, author of the most important monuments in both cities.
